DARTMOUTH, NS - National USGPRU 250GP Champion Adam Roberts is looking forward to getting his 2009 season underway and starting a strong defence of his 2008 title.

The USGPRU season kicks off this weekend at the JenningsGP circuit in North Florida, where Roberts claimed victory one year ago at the opening round of 2008.

“I’m really excited to start the season,” commented the Milford, NS resident, who spent some time during the winter months riding at the Florida track. “The bike was great in our pre-season test, and I think it can be better still.”

“We’re going to be up against some very tough competition this weekend,” continued 24-year-old Roberts, who built his racing career competing at Atlantic Motorsport Park near Shubenacadie. “But I’m confident that I’ve got the speed to run at the front. I just need to keep my head down and stay focused on my goals for the weekend.”

Roberts races a Yamaha TZ250R for the Halifax-based RAT Racing team and competes at circuits across the United States.

Sponsors include Remote Access Technology (RAT), Pro Cycle (procycleonline.com), Kimpex and Ipone.
