Savoy moves up to Pro Sport Bike

From Team John Savoy Racing

OTTAWA, ON -- Last year's RACE SV Cup champion John Savoy has announced he will be riding a Triumph 675 in the Parts Canada Superbike Championship in the 2009 season.

With sponsorship from GPBikes of Ajax, ON and Mimic Bodywork, Savoy is making a push for HJC Pro Rookie of the Year.

To prepare for the first round at Calabogie Motorsport Park May 21-24 Savoy will race in the first two rounds of the RACE Regionals at Shannonville Motorsport Park. Triumph has made some changes to the 675 for 2009. Uxbridge, ON's Alex Welsh used a Triumph 675 to take last year's HJC Pro Rookie prize on the national tour.

Savoy is also looking forward to advancing to the Pro ranks for this season and would like to thank Jerry of GPBikes and James of Mimic Bodywork for stepping up and helping out for this season.

In addition to his RACE SV Cup title, Savoy also was the Masters Middleweight Champion and finished fifth overall in the Middleweight Championship at Shannonville last season.
