Lajoie back in California

From Nadine Lajoie

After an absence of seven weeks, Nadine Lajoie returned to California for a regional event at Willow Springs Raceway recently.

The weather was gorgeous and despite the aches and pains associated with her long layoff Lajoie enjoyed a positive weekend. She came ninth in 600 Superbike, 13th in Formula 2 and 15th in 600 Modified Production. She was ranked 13th overall in the standings for 600 Modified Production.

After being back in Canada for more than two months, Lajoie rented a motorcycle for the last National at Shannonville Motorsport Park. Unfortunately, suspension problems made for a very long and painful weekend, and finally the engine blew in the last lap of the Women's Cup race.

"It's too bad. I would've really liked to do the last regional in September in Shannonville but not having finished did not warrant my taking part in these last races and rent another bike," Lajoie said.

Lajoie's next event will be at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Nov. 1-2.
