All podiums for Jervis

By John Hopkins

Victoria's Oliver Jervis picked up a win and two other podium finishes in the fourth round of OMRRA action at Portland International Raceway Aug. 21-22.

Jervis took the win on the Zlock-prepared Kawasaki ZX-6R in 600 Supersport and added a runner-up result in 600 Superbike and third place in Formula Ultra.

In 600 Supersport Jervis grabbed second off the line and then used lapped traffic to take the lead on the final lap.

"It all came down to the last lap where traffic became part of the plan," Jervis explained. "I managed to use the traffic to my advantage and take the lead in turn three. Despite another attempt for a lead change in turn four I was able to square the corner off and lead the group to the stripe."

Jervis again ran second early in the 600 Superbike race, but saw his efforts for the win hampered due to an apparent water leak from the leader's bike, which caused Jervis to back off and settle for the runner-up position.

Jervis opted to revert to the ZX-6R rather than his ZX-10R for the damp Formula Ultra race. After running fifth in the early laps he had worked his way up to third and was chipping away at the leaders when a red flag came out, ending the event early.
