Brembo back in Canadian nationals

From Martin Brickwood Performance

Guy Martin and Janet Brickwood of Martin Brickwood Performance are pleased to announce that the Brembo Tuner’s Award is back this year for the Parts Canada Superbike and Canadian Thunder National Championships.

The award has been expanded to encompass the new Canadian Thunder Sport Twins division and will continue to acknowledge the top tuners from both the premiere Superbike class as well as the Canadian Thunder classes.

In Superbike the award goes to the tuner who comes closest to the 180 horsepower limit without going over and in the Canadian Thunder and Canadian Sport Twins classes the Brembo award will go to the tuners who come closest to the class rules dictated horsepower limits of 122 for Thunder and 95 for liquid-cooled Sport Twins with a 90 horsepower cap for air-cooled.

The results from the official series Dynojet dynometer will determine the winners post race and the motorcycles must also pass the required weigh in to be eligible. Superbike is allowed a minimum of 360 lbs while Canadian Thunder has a minimum of 380 lbs and Canadian Sport Twins are restricted to 370 lbs.

In Superbike the top tuner gets $250 value in Brembo products and in both twins classes the award will consist of $100 value from Brembo.

“We started this award last year and it was very well received,” said Martin. “So we have decided to expand it for 2008 in order to accommodate the new Sport Twins class. There are many incentives for the racers including prize money and product manufacturer’s contingencies; we felt that the people making it possible for the riders should also be acknowledged.”

In addition to representing Brembo products, Martin Brickwood Performance will also be helping Amateur rider Martin Grande. Grande will be riding a Suzuki GSX-R600 in the International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW sponsored Amateur 600 Sport Bike Championship.

MBP will also be marketing Italian made Starlane lap timers and quick shifters for all models of sport bikes in addition to their line up of high performance Ducati pieces as well as Brembo products.
