The Professor and the Scorpion

From John Parker

STONEY CREEK, ON -- John “The Professor” Parker is pleased to announce that he will be wearing Scorpion Helmets for the 2008 dirt track season. Scott Webb of Scorpion Canada confirmed that he and Kawasaki’s Parker had come to an agreement that will see the former #1 plate holder using Scorpion Helmets exclusively this year.

“We’re extremely pleased to have veteran flat track star John Parker join the Scorpion racing family," Webb said. "John brings a long and distinguished career to our growing stable of racers here in Canada. I’ve had the opportunity to speak with John quite a bit over the past few months and his genuine enthusiasm for Scorpion helmets made our decision an easy one. We wish John all the best for the 2008 season.”

“I’m very pleased,” enthused Parker. “It’s an awesome helmet, they’re comfortable, they have flat shields available (important feature for racers as a flat shield accommodates tear-offs) and I really think they’re underpriced for the quality.

"Scott brought a couple of helmets down to the shop (Budds BMW in Oakville, ON) for me to try on; in fact all of our staff tried them on and were very impressed. We were so impressed that we are now a stocking dealer for Scorpion. BMW customers appreciate quality and they’re going to love these things.

"Also it’s great to work with Scott. He’s a former dirt tracker and road racer and he understands.”

Parker has chosen the Scorpion VX700 with Crackhead graphics for flat track and a VX17 Twister for TT and short track.

Scorpion joins a supporting group of sponsors for Parker’s assault on the Championships this year including Canadian Kawasaki Motors, Inglis Cycle Center, Elf Moto Oil, Hot Cams Pivot Works, IM Leathers, Bickle Racing, Extreme Measures Kustom Paint and Saddlemen.
