Auburn Hills races canceled

From Auburn Hills

Spring Races Cancelled at Auburn Hills Raceway. Auburn Hills two spring races previously scheduled for April 27 (Spring Series) and May 10-11 (OPC/ANQ) have been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. Two replacement venues have been secured to hold these events for the Spring Series and will be announced accordingly.

Auburn Hills has every intention of holding their fall series race on August 31st, and resuming their race season and scheduling commitments in 2009. The two replacement venues will give way to Auburn returning to the SWO schedule at that time.

In recent years, the sport of motocross has faced much difficulty and adversity as a result of increased zoning and regional restrictions within its communities.

Tom Bitz, Auburn Hills promoter said "I want to apologize to all the people who have supported Auburn throughout the years, and let them know we will overcome the obstacles in front of us, and we will put on a great fall race! Tom would also like to thank everyone who has helped the track throughout the years: fellow promoters, volunteers, riders and their families.

I cannot stress enough to the riders that in these times, we must all do our part to support our local tracks, their communities, and work towards sharing this great sport and environment with them.

CMRC
will announce the replacement tracks for Auburn shortly, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
