Vectrix scooters making an impression on Hollywood

The Vectrix Corporation began its existence in 1996, with the sole purpose of developing a zero emission two-wheeled vehicle. It is now twelve years later and they are continuing to make their mark with their line of electric scooters, and in May of this year became a publicly traded company.

In an email, The Vectrix Corporation shared some of its more high profile customers and stated that Jay Leno, had recently added a Vectrix Maxi-Scooter to his vast and impressive collection of vehicles. Leno’s interest in alternative fuels inspired him to test ride the first electric scooter that is capable of highway speeds. Click here to see what Leno had to say about the Vectrix.

Environmental crusader, Leonardo DiCaprio, who has recently produced an eco-documentary and started an action website designed to allow people to connect together and share ways to reduce the world’s dependence on fossil fuels. DiCaprio can now be seen cruising around Hollywood on his Vectrix scooter.

The City of Sacramento has also come onboard with this groundbreaking vehicle and announced that they will be entering in a pilot project to test the scooters. The test will include parking enforcement and the police department; following New York City’s lead in doing so.

The State of California is also offer up to a $1500.00 rebate for residence that purchase alternative fuel and electric vehicles. For more information click here.
