New MX team for Don Valley North Toyota/Yamaha

Toronto, ON - Don Valley North Toyota and Asselstine Country (Yamaha) will reach out to the market in 2008 by sponsoring an amateur motocross racing team in southern Ontario. Officially the team is named Don Valley North Toyota Yamaha Motocross Racing Team (DVNTYMX). The style name is Team Matrix which implies a grid or multi-dimensional tiered network.

Team Matrix members include: Trevor Emery, Intermediate, 19, Innisfil, ON; Steve Donadel, Junior, 16, Newtonville, ON; Kirsten MacDonald, Ladies and Junior, 16, Courtice ON; Geoff Monk, 15, Intermediate, Bridgenorth, ON; Jamie Both, Junior, 14, Orillia, ON and RJ Marnoch, 65-85cc 7-11 yrs, 11, Innisfil, ON.

Don Valley’s (DVNT) involvement with motorcycle racing dates back to 1983. Over the years they have enjoyed the benefits of association with numerous professional motorcycle racers competing in a variety of disciplines. These include: Damon Bradshaw, USA (Supercross); Kevin Moore, Canada (Motocross); Bruce Both, Canada (Snowcross, and ATV); Tommy Douglas, Canada (Superbike); Terry Rymer, UK (World Superbike) and John, Wade and Greg Williams (World Champion Hillclimbing Team)

Showcasing Toyota’s 2008 Tundra and Tacoma pickup truck lines the team will compete at CMRC events in Ontario. The creation of Team Matrix in 2008 falls on the 20 year anniversary of the historic 1988 Toronto Supercross. Don Valley North Toyota and Canada Cycle Sports sponsored (then15-year old) amateur North Carolina rider Damon Bradshaw who upset the talented “Expert Class” field by winning the event.
